Talk + Meditation: Why Good Boundaries Make Better Relationships
August 28, 2026

Good boundaries aren’t about pushing people away. In fact, they can help us feel closer, more open, and more at ease with the people we care about. When you know where you stand, what you’re responsible for, and what you’re simply not going to take on, there’s less resentment, confusion, and pressure in a relationship. So that’s what I covered in my talk this week, including how to recognize what’s okay, what’s not, and what is – as I like to put it, NMJ – Not My Job.

Boundaries can be challenging, especially with the people we love, but they can also bring a lot more freedom, peace, and genuine connection into our relationships. (If you want to start practicing this for yourself, check out my upcoming workshop on Setting Healthy Boundaries.)

This meditation invites you to rest in a grounded sense of self, cultivating the inner calm, compassion, and clarity needed to stay connected with others while honoring your own healthy boundaries.

These teachings are offered freely, at no charge.

And if you like, you may wish to participate in the age-old tradition of generosity through making an offering yourself – called “dāna” – to support Rick and the Wednesday Meditations. Generosity itself is a beautiful practice that opens and gladdens the heart, relaxes the contraction of “self,” and ripples out into the world to touch many people – and perhaps, eventually, even oneself.
