It’s easy to get caught up in the endless cycle of doing, striving, worrying, and reacting to whatever life throws our way. We can spend so much time trying to fix things or get somewhere else that we lose touch with the simple experience of being here, right now.
In this talk, I explore the practice of *heartfelt presence*—bringing together mindful awareness with kindness, compassion, and an open heart. We’ll look at how this way of being can help us navigate grief and loss, find greater contentment, feel more secure, and deepen our connections with others. I also share practical ways to cultivate heartfelt presence so it becomes less something you have to do and more a natural way of being.

A Meditation: Resting in Heartfelt Presence
In this guided meditation, you’re invited to cultivate heartfelt presence by grounding yourself in your body, settling into the present moment, and opening to qualities of kindness and compassion.
Beginning with a comfortable posture and gentle awareness of the breath, you’ll practice letting go of distracting thoughts, worries, and unnecessary tension. As your awareness expands to include your whole body, you can discover a growing sense of stability, peacefulness, and reassurance in simply being here, now. From this grounded place, you bring awareness to the area around your heart, inviting feelings of kindness, compassion, goodwill, and love. This simple practice of heartfelt presence can help you feel more centered, open-hearted, and at ease with yourself and others.
