Wednesday Weekly Meditation and Talk with Ajahn Kovilo
Much research has shown that meditation is one of the very best ways to cultivate the brain states of self-awareness, calm and inner peace, lovingkindness, mindfulness, and happiness – as well as strengthen the immune system and nurture other health benefits.
Join guest teacher Ajahn Kovilo for a live-streamed weekly meditation, talk, and discussion. Ajahn Kovilo is an American-born Theravāda monk who, having encounterd Buddhism through Goenka meditation courses in his early twenties, has been living and training in Thai Forest Tradition monasteries (especially Abhayagiri Monastery) in the U.S. and Thailand since 2006. Ajahn Kovilo has also practiced in the Pa Auk lineage, has studied at the Dharma Realm Buddhist University, has edited and translated several books, and has now settled down in Seattle where he is dedicated to founding Clear Mountain Monastery with his brother monk, Ajahn Nisabho.
These teachings are offered freely, at no charge. And if you like, you may wish to participate in the age-old tradition of generosity through making an offering yourself – called “dāna” – to support Ajahn Kovilo and Rick’s Wednesday Meditations. Generosity itself is a beautiful practice that opens and gladdens the heart, relaxes the contraction of “self,” and ripples out into the world to touch many people – and perhaps, eventually, even oneself.
