Dr. Hanson’s approach is Buddhist – though you certainly don’t need to be “Buddhist” to come and get value\, nor do you need any prior experience with meditation. While the “home base” for this group is the Vipassana tradition\, Zen and Tibetan approaches are accepted\, respected\, and encouraged. \nThese teachings are offered freely\, at no charge. And if you like\, you may wish to participate in the age-old tradition of generosity through making an offering yourself – called “dāna” – to support Rick and the Wednesday Meditations. After finishing college in 2012\, Ajahn Nisabho left his native Washington to go forth as a Buddhist monk in Thailand. He received full ordination the following spring under Ajahn Anan\, a senior disciple of renowned meditation master\, Ajahn Chah\, and spent the following years training in forest monasteries around the world with contemporary masters such as Ajahn Anan\, Ajahn Pasanno\, and Ajahn Jayasaro.
